Adicione a raspas do limão e o sumo. Junte as natas e bata muito bem.
Acrescente a farinha, o fermento e o sal e bata novamente.
Top lemon cake, I've lost count of the lemon cakes I've made here at home, I confess I'm a fan of the taste of lemon. Today I made a lemon cake with cream.
Top lemon cake
Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 and a half cups of sugar
100g butter
1 and a half cups of flour
200 ml cream.
Juice and zest of one lemon
1 tablespoon baking powder.
Half a teaspoon of fine salt.
Preparation:
Beat the butter and sugar until you get a creamy, light homogeneous mixture. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat in between each egg. Include the lemon zest and juice. Add the cream and beat very well.
Increase the flour, baking powder and salt and beat again. Grease a round cake tin with margarine and dust it with flour. Pour the cake mixture into the tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 30 to 40 minutes until the cake is cooked through and golden brown on top. Use the toothpick test to see when the cake is cooked.
(For those who don't know how to do the toothpick test to see if the cake is cooked, stick a toothpick into the cake from the top and then remove the toothpick; if the toothpick doesn't bring up any moist cake, the cake is cooked. If the toothpick comes out with cake stuck to it, the cake still needs to bake for a few more minutes in the oven.)
Lemon syrup:
Ingredients:
2 cups icing sugar.
Juice and zest of one lemon.
2 pebbles of coarse salt.
Preparation:
Mix the lemon juice with the sugar and pour the mixture evenly over the cake. Finish by sprinkling lemon zest over the top and a couple of pinches of coarse salt (the pinches will give it a flavor boost).
Once ready, serve with a big smile and bon appetit!
