Junte a manteiga.

French fries with cheese and bacon. These cheese fries are crispy fries that are topped with a delicious sauce of melted cheese, smoked bacon and thyme. An appetizer loaded with flavors. You can make them in the oven and, of course, you know it's not quite the same. Of course, this is an option to make from time to time.
You need to drain the oil from the potatoes very well so that they are very dry.

French fries with cheddar cheese and bacon

Ingredients for 3 people:

5 large potatoes cut into sticks.
300 g grated cheddar cheese
1 packet of cream 200 ml
100 ml milk
1 tablespoon butter
2 sliced garlic cloves
300 g sliced smoked bacon
Salt
Dried thyme

Preparation:
Dry the potato sticks with a clean cloth.
Fry the potatoes and the bacon and garlic together (everyone knows this, but I can't remind you enough to pay attention to the oil, always take precautions when frying food so you don't burn yourself, avoid having children and animals around at this time and never leave the oil on the heat).

Once the potatoes are fried and the bacon (the garlic we fried was to add flavor to the oil), remove everything from the oil with the help of a slotted spoon to a dish with absorbent paper and then to another dish so that the oil dries well.
Season the potatoes with salt and thyme and then drizzle them with the cheddar cheese sauce (recipe to follow).

Serve immediately with a big smile, bon appetit!

Preparing the cheese sauce for the potatoes:

Place the cream and milk in a saucepan or high-sided frying pan and heat over a low heat.
When the cream is hot, gradually add the cheese so that it dissolves and stir to incorporate the cheese well into the cream.
Add the butter. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, stir as soon as it has the consistency of cream, it's ready and turn off the heat.
If necessary, you can add a little more milk as the sauce thickens.

Half an onion, chopped
1 clove of chopped garlic
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Half a cup of milk
4 large potatoes peeled and diced
200 g shredded mozzarella cheese
Pitted black olives
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Picante (to take to the table)
Thyme (if you don't have it you can use oregano, if you don't also have oregano don't use anything)

Preparation:
Fry the potato cubes, then place them on a plate with absorbent paper to remove the excess oil. Season the potatoes with salt and thyme and set aside.

In a high-sided frying pan, add olive oil to the bottom and sauté the onion and garlic. As soon as the sauté begins to brown, add the minced meat and season with salt and pepper. Cook evenly, stirring, until the meat is well done. Pour in the milk and simmer for a few minutes, then turn off the heat and set aside.

Grease a baking dish with a little butter and arrange the potato cubes in the dish. Add the mince, black olives and cheese. Use 2 spoons to mix everything together.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180º until the cheese is melted and lightly browned on top.
After removing from the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley for color and aroma.
I repeated the dish twice at lunch because it was so good. Try this dish, it's very simple.
