Portuguese-style turkey steak platter

Ingredients for 3 people:

To make the turkey steaks we need:

3 large turkey steaks.
3 slices of ham.
4 tablespoons of olive oil.
1 teaspoon of garlic paste (crushed garlic)
100 ml white wine
100 g butter (I use butter-flavored margarine)
Salt and pepper.
1 teaspoon Maisena flour (cornstarch)
3 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and sliced (side dish)

To cook the potatoes we need

5 large potatoes, peeled and cut into slices of about 1 cm each.
1 teaspoon of coarse salt.
2 tablespoons of olive oil.
2 tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley.
Salt and pepper.

Let’s start with the potatoes. Place the potatoes in a medium saucepan covered with water and salt. Once the potatoes are cooked, drain the water from the potatoes and discard it. Place the olive oil and chopped parsley in a frying pan and sauté the potatoes in the oil. Season with salt and pepper and set aside, covered.

Let’s cook the steaks:

Season the turkey steaks with salt.

Put the olive oil and the garlic paste in a frying pan. Stir the garlic paste with a wooden spoon to mix it into the oil. Heat over a low heat until hot. Place the turkey steaks in the pan with the slices of ham on top and fry everything on both sides. Once fried, remove everything to a plate and cover.

Put the wine and butter in the frying pan where you fried the steaks. Season with salt and pepper and heat until the butter has melted, stirring constantly. Dilute the flour in a small amount of water (1 tablespoon of water) and add the diluted flour and water mixture to the frying pan, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens a little.

Arrange the sautéed potatoes on a platter and place the turkey steaks with the slices of ham on top.

Place the hard-boiled eggs on top and drizzle everything with the sauce from the frying pan.

Garnish with fresh parsley leaves.

Serve with a big smile, bon appetit!
