Sweet sin of almonds and walnuts

Ingredients:

5 eggs at room temperature.
100 g melted butter (I use butter-flavored margarine)
300 g sugar.
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
4 tablespoons of port wine.
1 pinch of coarse salt.
150 g fine flour.
1 teaspoon baking powder.
60 g almond flour (ground skinless almonds)
120g walnut kernels, roughly chopped.

Preparation:

Beat the butter with the sugar until you get a uniform pale yellow mixture. Separate the eggs and add the yolks to the previous mixture. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. Beat the egg yolks with the butter and sugar, slowly adding the flour and yeast. Add the wine, cinnamon, salt, almond flour and chopped walnuts.

Finish by gently folding the whipped cream into the mixture. Grease a round cake tin with margarine and sprinkle with flour and bake in a preheated oven at 180º for about 20 to 25 minutes. Once baked, leave to cool and unmold. Brush the cake with warmed honey and decorate with walnut kernels.

Serve with a smile and a nice cup of tea, bon appetit!
